While residing in Bayonne, Frank was active in and served in the chairs of Our Lady Star of the Sea Knights of Columbus Council #371, he was a charter member of El Jarrow Caravan of the Alhambra, The Marion Foundation, Tri Towers and was a member & past president of Our Lady of Assumption's Holy Name Society. Frank, attended St Peter’s College, Jersey City, and then enrolled in the McAllister Institute of Embalming & Mortuary Science, NYC, where he was elected class President. He then joined the Leber Funeral Home Union City as an intern and earned his NJ State Funeral Directors License. The Leber Funeral Home at that time had the largest funeral volume in the state, which allowed Frank to develop embalming, restorative & cosmetic techniques for which he is recognized. Leaving in 1967 he joined Volk Funeral Homes of Teaneck & Bogota. In 1968 he was appointed Manager of Volk’s new Home in Palisades Park, where his personal reputation was recognized and developed. During this time Frank was involved with the Foundation of Thanantology at Columbia University, NYC and was invited to speak before colleges and high schools throughout the metropolitan area. He appeared on Television and taught Courses on Death & Dying at Montclair University with Dr. Ruth Blanche from 1972-1975. In 1975 he left Volk because of an unfulfilled agreement and joined the Batesville Casket Company as a Regional Representative of North Jersey & Staten Island. Frank believes this was the most “growing experience of his professional life" as it put him in constant contact with over 300 successful Funeral Directors who often shared their reasons for their successful service. In 1980 Frank & Ken established their funeral service at 327 Main Street, Fort Lee, NJ. With great gratitude to Dr Frank A. Patti, MD who purchased the property & collateralized the construction of this new building, and to Frank's Brother, John J. Patti, then a delegate of I.B.E.W. Local #106, for his many contacts and vast knowledge of the construction industry. Frank was proud to serve as general contractor in the erection of the building, which is the present day funeral home.
Frank, always community minded, remains active on The Fort Lee Beautification Committee where he served as chairman during the Main Street Triangle & Boro Hall Grounds Renovations. He currently serves on the Board of Directors and is the First Vice President for The Greater Fort Lee Chamber of Commerce. In addition to being a member of the Fort Lee Lion’s Club, he is also a Member of the Fort Lee Economic Development Commission, and Past Chairmen of the Fort Lee Special Improvement District (SID). A longtime resident of Palisades Park, he serves as the town's Historian, is a member of Archbishop Walsh Knights of Columbus Council #3550, Zamora Caravan of the Alhambra, and is a past officer of the English Neighborhood Historic Society. Frank is a past president of the Four Seasons Pool & Clubhouse Association, Barnegat, NJ. Of Frank’s many recognitions he is most proud of his Eagle Scout Award (1956), earning the 1969 National Select Morticians Award, and for being chosen as the 1991 Man of the Year by the Greater Fort Lee Chamber of Commerce. Frank is involved in all aspects of the funeral industry and will gladly answer any of your questions. Please contact him at frankpatti@frankpatti.com
