  1. My heartfelt condolences go out to Dr. Carmen's family. I worked with her through my job at NPS. She was a wonderful professional and a great person. I am very saddened by her passing.

  2. There are some people that you meet along life's way that you begin to love because they have a passion and heart for the same things you do. That was Dr. Pelaez. She served as the Mental Health consultant for Newark Preschool Council for many years. She nurtured staff and parents to support the well being of their children. Every child had an opportunity to be loved, guided, and supported in their development. There was never a case to difficult, that she couldn't find a way to be helpful. Thank you for your love, compassion, strength and desire to serve our community. You will be missed my friend.

  3. Dr, Pelaez – I light this candle for you for giving a voice to families, for seeing the needs of children and helping us all determine how to meet those needs. You were their light!

  4. I am very saddened to hear the news of Dr. Pelaez's passing. I know how dedicated and passionate she was about providing exceptional mental health consultation services to the Newark Pre-school Council. I am grateful for having had the privilege to work with her and learn from her. I have very fond memories of Carmen and my time at NPC. May Carmen's colleagues, friends, and family feel the love and support from those whose lives she touched during this difficult time. May they also find comfort in knowing how well respected she was in her field. May you rest in peace, Carmen.

  5. I am very saddened to hear of Dr. Pelaez's passing. I had the pleasure of working with her through the school district. She was such an amazing person, who worked very diligently to obtain support for our little babies. My deepest condolences to Dr. Carmen's family. May she rest in eternal peace.

  6. So saddened to hear of Carmen's passing. Sincere condolences to her family. It was a pleasure and a privilege to have worked with Carmen over many years. Carmen's spirit, empathy, and dedication no doubt made a positive difference in the lives of many of our Newark preschoolers and their families. May she rest in peace.

For just as in Adam all are dying, so also in the Christ all will be made alive

    1 Corinthians 15:22

  9. I was saddened to hear of Carmens’s passing. My 9 years working with, and under her were wonderful years. Her kindness, professionalism, and friendship will always be cherished. She was committed to bettering the lives of the children she worked with and supporting the adults who spent their daily lives working with them. Thank you for all you gave to all of us who were lucky to know you. You will always be remembered with a smile. Rest In Peace Carmen.

  10. Esa vela me hará sentir q seguimos siendo las mismas amigas de la niñez q iniciamos en Cuba, hasta nuestro próximo encuentro, mis oraciones junto a tí…

  15. Dr. Pelaez Yusti was such a sweet person and had a great spirit. I worked with her at La Casa De Don Pedro and she helped me in my role as the school nurse and I will forever be grateful. There is no greater service than helping others, so find comfort knowing that your loved one was a blessing to the family in Newark.

I consider it an honor to have worked with her. She will be sorely missed.
