DeMercurio, Catherine, nee: Careri, age 97, of Fort Lee, on Wednesday September 12, 2018. Born in Reggio Calabria, Italy she was a clerk for ShopRite of Fort Lee. She was one of the founding members of both the Main Street Senior Club and the 475 Main Street Senior Building where she was a former President. Proud member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Fort Lee VFW and a parishioner of Madonna R.C. Church. Beloved wife of the late Saverio DeMercurio. Devoted mother of Maria Harding, Rose Martinez, Patricia Bartone and Nancy Mackie. Cherished grandmother of Jimmy, Bobby, Maria “Sissy”, Tammy, Joseph, Leslie, Stacy, Cindy, Keri and the late Andrea. Adored great grandmother of 19 and 4 great-great grandchildren. Dear sister of Marie Medaglia-Sanborn, Joseph, Sal and the Late Patsy Careri. The family will receive their friends on Sunday 3:00 -7:00 PM at the Frank A. Patti and Kenneth Mikatarian Funeral Home 327 Main Street “opposite the Fort Lee Library”. The funeral will leave Monday at 10:30 AM for the celebration of her funeral mass in Madonna R.C. Church On The Hill at 11:00 AM.   3. Angels are indeed in this world as human, Mama is one of them. A woman with a heart of GOLD, she always see a positive thing in every situation. I was one of her aides and I love her at first sight,the whole time I sent with her was just like me taking care of my gramma.
    I pray for Elternal rest for her, and may the Lord be with all her generations in Jesus mighty name,AMEN.
