  4. Dear Nino,
Through your good heart and deeds you and Rosalba helped us and paved the way for our wedding in North Bergen, NJ. That was nearly 60 years ago. Josephine and I, immigrants just arrived from Italy, had no knowledge of the English language and, without your help, it is hard to imagine what we would have done. Several times, in our life-long friendship, we fondly recalled the event. Your departure leaves behind a vacuum which can hardly be filled. Goodbye and farewell dear friend and rest in peace; you will live forever in our hearts and memory.
Rosalba, Anna, Gerardo, Vincenzo and respective families the pain and anguish you feel is probably unbearable, but you must be strong and console yourself at the thought that Nino has been an exemplary husband and father and, above all, a man with a big heart. He will also continue to guide your steps from Heaven.
    Sincerely,
    Josephine & Carmine Vona

  6. To my dear Papa, my rock & best buddy.

I knew a man, he was the greatest man
I’ve known in all my days.
Then one day God called on him, and now he’s gone away.

I loved this man with all my heart, and in my heart he’ll stay.
Continuing to lift me up, and lead me when I stray.

This great man he was my Dad, he meant the world to me.
He was always there supporting me, even when he disagreed.

He was my rock, my sounding board, He could always make me see.
The things in life that matter most, are truth and family.

Even though eye to eye, we do not always see.
I promise Dad to live my life, with love and honesty.

I miss you Dad so very much, and deeply it pains me.
I can’t believe I won’t hear your voice, your face no longer see.

I hope you know you’re my hero, and this you’ll always be.
I will find strength, I’ll carry on, I’ll make you proud of me.

Until the day we meet again, I know waiting you will be.
In paradise, I’ll see you there, with your arms wide open for me.

    Love endlessly, your daughter Anna

  7. Nonno
A Nonno’s strength is never forgotten,
His words and actions strong and true.
When life was hard, he was a man who always pushed through.

His selflessness will be forever remembered. Always putting others before him in every way.
When times were tough, he was a man who was brave.

His honorable ways will always live on. The lessons he taught in word and deed.
When people were hurting, he was a man who met their needs.

We know you’re still keeping an eye on us, so we will make sure you like what you see.

We honor you in our hearts now and forever, Nonno.

Your loving grandchildren: Marcella, Alessio, Marina, Cristian, Gian Carlo & Massimo and your Kitty Kitty Cat Bookie
