Dr. Jeon Hoo Lee, born June 28, 1941, passed on Friday, April 12, 2024 at the age of 82. He is survived by his wife, Hea Won Lee, and three children Gemma (Blaise) McLaughlin, Agnes (Steven) Yang, and Erica (Eric) Berg, as well as seven grandchildren.

After graduating from medical school at The Catholic University of Korea, he served in the Korean military, heading a tuberculosis ward for soldiers.  He was introduced by friends to his wife Hea Won Lee in Seoul, Korea. They emigrated together to the United States in 1971 and celebrated 52 years of marriage last fall. Jeon completed his internship in Chicago and residency in Radiation Oncology at Northwestern. The family settled in Buffalo, NY where Jeon served as a radiation oncologist for many decades. He was very active in the Korean Catholic Church, serving as president for multiple terms, and was instrumental in erecting a statue of St. Andrew Kim, after whom the Church became named for. He enjoyed golf, spending time with friends, ballroom dancing, karaoke, and learning to play the guitar, which he started in his seventies. He continued to see patients in semi-retirement in New Jersey until the age of 80. He will be remembered for his warm smile, sense of humor, and strong dedication to his loved ones, patients, and his church.

Visitation will be held at Frank Patti & Kenneth Mikatarian Funeral Home on Monday, April 15, 2024 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.  The funeral service will be at Madonna Church https://www.madonnachurch.org/  at 11:00 am on Tuesday April 16, 2024.
