Josephine Joyce Margherini, 97, of Harrington Park, New Jersey, formerly of Norwood and Palisades Park, New Jersey, passed away on February 2, 2023 .
Josephine is predeceased by her parents, Silverio and Incoronata Morrone, her three sisters, Civita, Ernestine and Carmela Morrone, her only grandson, Drew Tyler Decuir and her son-in-law, Mitchell A. Decuir.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 75 years, Tullio, and her beloved children, Carol M. Decuir of Franklin, MA, Kenneth Margherini and his wife, Mary, of Hilton Head Island, S.C., Diane Ciolino and her husband, John, of Glen Rock, N.J. and her granddaughter, Dr. Denise Ciolino of East Middletown, N.J.
Josephine was born on September 5, 1925 in Waterbury, CT and later moved with her family to Palisades Park, N.J. She married Tullio Margherini on June 29, 1947. After raising her three children, Josephine worked in Weber’s Mens’ Shop in Palisades Park, N.J. for thirty years.
Josephine enjoyed doing aerobics, walking and doing word puzzles. She also enjoyed cooking. Holidays were always a time for her to show off her cooking talent. She loved being around her family, and will be dearly missed.
Josephine’s Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday February 9th in The Historic Church of the Madonna, Fort Lee, N.J. at 11 a.m. Entombment to follow the Mass in Madonna Mausoleum, 2070 Hoefleys Lane, Fort Lee, N.J.
The family will receive their family and friends on WednesdayFebruary 8th 3-7 pm p.m. in the Frank Patti & Kenneth Mikatarian Funeral Home, 327 Main Street, Fort Lee, N.J. (Telephone: 201-944-0100).
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Josephine’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, 23 Vreeland Road, #105, Florham Park, N.J. 07932
