Kevork S. Karamanoukian, 86, of Englewood Cliffs, NJ passed away peacefully on February 11, 2016. Kevork, known as George, Koko or simply 'Mr. K' by his family and many friends was born in Alexandria, Egypt and graduated from the British Boys School. George was a caring family man, devoted friend and a successful business owner and corporate executive. He built up a conglomerate of manufacturing, distribution and trading enterprises in Egypt, while also serving as President of the Sahadi Company, a New Jersey based subsidiary of Unilever. He was a gentleman of the world who spoke seven languages, travelled extensively, lived half of his life in the Middle East and the other half in his beloved United States. Most importantly, George was passionate about his family and friends. He was generous with his heart, his time and his love. He was the proud son of the late Sarkis and Aroussiag, supportive brother of Lucy and Doreen, loving husband of the late Elisabeth and wonderful father of the Henry, Jack and the late Serge. He loved his daughters-in-law Victoria and Anita, and his six grandchildren (George, Charles, Michael, Elisabeth, Sophia and Grace) beyond words. He was a devoted brother-in-law to the late Joseph, the late John and Kohar and a caring uncle to Nathalie, Jean Paul, George, Karen and Doreen. Services will be held Friday, February 26th at St. Thomas Armenian Church in Tenafly, New Jersey at 3 pm, followed by a reception at the Clinton Inn. George will be laid to rest at Cimetiere de Chatelaine in Geneva, Switzerland on Wednesday, March 2nd. He lived a full life and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him. The family will accept flowers that can be sent to the church or donations in Lieu of flowers can be made to St. Thomas Armenian Church.
