Ippolito, Mary Jean age 97, nee: D'Elia, a 48 year resident of Palisades Park, formerly of Jersey City, on February 14, 2015. She was predeceased by her wonderful husband, Nicholas, after 71 years of marriage, in 2012. Mary graduated Dickinson High School in 1935. She was a member of the International Garment Workers Union and a sample design seamstress for Leslie Fay in Manhattan for many years. A person of extraordinary culinary skills, her home has always been the heart of family gatherings filled with love and joy. December 24, 2014 was the 47th consecutive Christmas Eve celebration at her residence. Those present included her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, siblings, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and friends… 30 people in all. Her warmth, friendship, and love have left many with beautiful memories. Devoted mother of Annette Staub and Camille Manzella and her husband John. Cherished grandmother of Nick Staub, Carolyn Staub, John (Kim) Manzella, Vincent Manzella, and Paul Manzella. Loving great grandmother of Kai, Tayva, Luca, and Trixie. Dear sister of Angelina D'Elia, Anthony (Joan) D'Elia, and the late Carmine, Thomas (Patricia), Jean and Lucy. The family will receive their friends on Thursday 4:00 – 8:00 pm at the Frank A. Patti and Kenneth Mikatarian Funeral Home 327 Main Street "opposite the Fort Lee Library". The funeral will leave Friday at 11:30 AM for the celebration of her funeral mass in St. Michael's R.C. Church, 19 E. Central Blvd., Palisades Park, NJ 07650 at 12:00 PM.
