Mary T Meehan, 96, of Leonia, NJ passed away Monday, May 2, 2022 peacefully at home. She was born January 6, 1926 in Brooklyn, NY to Isaac and Nancy Grey. She married Vincent B. Meehan who predeceased her in 1997.

Surviving are her children, daughters Maureen Flanagan of Seaside Park, NJ, and Kerry Stokes of New Milford, NJ and son, Kevin J Meehan of Hampton Township, NJ. 9 grandchildren, Christina, Kate, Lauren, Danielle, Kenneth, Lindsey, Caitlin, Skya and Gerard. Great grandchildren, Mackenzie, Dillon, Devan, Bryce, Aria, and Lizzie. Her daughter, Patricia pre deceased her in 2003.

Mary was a long time resident of Leonia where she had lived since 1961. She held various administrative positions for local companies such as Best Foods and CPC while she raised her family with husband Vincent.

The family will receive their friends on Thursday 3:00 – 7:00 PM at the Frank A. Patti and Kenneth Mikatarian Funeral Home 327 Main Street "opposite the Fort Lee Library". The funeral will leave Friday May 6, 2022 at 12 PM, for the celebration of her funeral mass in St. John's R.C. Church, 470 Broad Avenue, Leonia, NJ. The burial will follow at Brookside Cemetery, 425 Engle Street, Englewood, NJ.

  1. It was said, that when my father took our grandparents back to Sweden, our grandmother wanted to take Mary with her, because "she looked Swedish" and "she knew some Swedish." Mary was always so beautiful and accomplished, and I wanted to be like her. I know you must miss her so much. She will never be forgotten. My love to all my wonderful American cousins.
