Milton Palakian
September 8, 1926 ~ May 21, 2022
Palakian, Milton, age 95, a resident of Fort Lee for 60 years, passed away peacefully on Saturday May 21, 2022. Born in New York City, he graduated upholstery trade school in 1953, and owned Milton’s Trade Shop, a custom decorating firm that operated for over 45 years. He proudly served in the Army during World War II. An avid sports fan, he loved the NY teams, Rangers, Giants, and especially the Yankees. He was an active parishioner of St. Thomas Armenian Church. He enjoyed traveling and enjoyed the Jersey Shore.
Beloved husband of 66 years to Arax (nee: Kazanjian). Devoted father of Barbara Putnam and her husband Robert, and Michael Palakian and his wife Valerie. Cherished grandfather of Matthew, Christopher, Ashley and Alexander. Dear brother of late siblings Sarah Chakmakjian and Peter Palakian.
The family will receive their friends on Thursday 5-8 pm at the Frank A. Patti and Kenneth Mikatarian Funeral Home 327 Main Street “opposite the Fort Lee Library”. All are asked to assemble Friday in St. Thomas Armenian Church (Tenafly) at 10:00 AM for funeral services. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Thomas Armenian Church.
