March 2, 1926 ~ April 7, 2021
Merletto, Philip C., age 95, of Fort Lee, passed away peacefully on Wednesday April 7, 2021. Devoted husband to Marilyn Merletto nee: Schmidlapp, since 1956.
Loving father of Patricia Ciccone and her husband Robert, Janet LaRusso and her husband John, and Phyllis Tarantino and her husband Carl.
Cherished grandfather to Brian Ciccone and his wife Lynn; Danielle Ciccone, Michael Tarantino, John LaRusso and his wife AnnMarie, Vanessa Marcantuono and her husband Anthony; Philip LaRusso, Matthew Tarantino, and Emily Tarantino.
Proud great-grandfather to Ava and Xander Ciccone and Antonia and Giavanna Marcantuono.
Philip was born in Fairview, NJ and raised in Cliffside Park, NJ. until he married Marilyn and moved to Fort Lee, NJ, where he resided until his death.
Philip was a proud Veteran who served in the US Army during WWII.
He was a devout Catholic and parishioner of Church of the Madonna since 1963.
He was a superintendent at Ford Motor Company until he retired in 1987.
His life was devoted to his family and to helping friends and neighbors in need.
Due to the Covid 19 Pandemic, a private funeral mass will be held on Monday, April 12, at the Church of the Madonna.
