Catania, Salvatore, G. age 85, of Fort Lee, passed away on Saturday September 28, 2024. Loving son to the late Salvatore and Josephine Catania. Devoted husband to Marie Catania (nee: Spinazzola). Cherished father to Paulette Ulisse and her husband Christopher. Predeceased by his brothers Joseph and Emmanuel Catania.
Salvatore lived in Fort Lee for 45 years, then lived in Woodstock, Vermont and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina before returning to Fort Lee to live out his remaining days.
He had a seat on the American Stock Exchange, before striking out on his own, which permitted him to work from home through multiple moves and many life changes.
His family was the most important thing to him, and he kept in close contact with family on both sides throughout all his moves. He loved working with his hands, be that through construction, home repair, and gardening. These were all loves he passed on to his daughter.
For a person who never had a pet, once his wife introduced him to his first (a dog, named Uno), it began a lifelong love of animals, especially dogs.
He will be deeply missed by his family.
Donations may be made in Sal’s memory to the Alzheimer’s association

Chris and I will always remember Sal as one of our most treasured friends, especially for Chris, who has known him for more than 60 years. They spent a lot of time together at the Bicycle Club, Tom Swifts , down the shore, as well as a couple of Caribbean vacations during their “bachelor” days.
Sal always had an easy smile on his face but his biggest smile appeared when he met the love of his life, Marie. They raised a beautiful daughter together and we shared many happy times together celebrating many birthday parties with our children.
He will always have a soft spot in our hearts and will be missed dearly.
I’m sorry for your loss
