Virginia T. Dame (nee: Gorman), age 85, of Fairview, NJ formerly of Edgewater, NJ passed peacefully on Tuesday November 21, 2023. Born in New York city she grew up in Chelsea before moving to New Jersey where she became a school bus driver for the Edgewater School System. After furthering her training, she became the first female bus driver at the Fairview Garage of NJ Transit where she worked for over 30 years. Virginia became the shop steward and union rep for the drivers of the Fairview Garage.

Devoted mother of Virginia A. Heatter, Doris T. Dame and Kathleen H. Dame-Fierro. Cherished mother-in-law of Paul Fierro. Adored Nanny of Ginger, Michele and Domenic and his wife Christina. Adored great grandmother “Nanny D” of Paul, Jacinda, and Zachary. Dear sister of Edward Gorman. Loving daughter of Virginia Mae Gorman née Lawrence. She will also be missed by Charles Dame.

The family will receive their friends on Saturday November 25th at the Frank Patti and Kenneth Mikatarian Funeral Directors 327 Main Street Fort Lee, NJ. From 1-5 pm. Interment will be private.
