  1. Bill was a great mentor and friend. I am forever grateful for the guidance he provided me personally and professionally over the past 20 years. Love you Bill

  2. I will never forget the day, over 14 years ago, when I received a call out of the blue from Bill Pappas… for I had just had lost a BOR (Broker of Record) on my very first (and only case) for group insurance. After a few moments of Bill's "pep-talk", where he proceeded to tell me that I deserved the business and who did this other broker think he was taking it away from me?!? If you've ever seen the movie "Any Given Sunday", it is no less in my mind then Pacino's speech to his football players. Well, I went right over to the client, put a BOR back in front of them and took the case back. His belief in me when I was new in the business allowed me to build a successful career and practice. I am thankful for his efforts when many wouldn't have cared. In appreciation for a life well lived.

On behalf of me and my staff, our sincerest condolences to the Pappas (and entire FILCO family).

    Thanks Bill, Rest in Peace.

  4. Bill Pappas was a giant in the Employee Benefits field. He was a strong friend and mentor to many Insurance professionals. He not only knew the complicated laws and procedures of the Insurance regulations, he always explained it with a great story that left everyone with a smile, if not full laughter. He built a great General Agency that is known for Honesty and Service. He was always involved with charities and giving back. I will miss him.

  5. I am so sorry for your loss. My parents Martin and Jacqueline Monaco went to high school with Mr. Pappas. Years later moving to Leonia and my parents would run into him. My mom passed on 7 years ago but she had told me stories of growing up in Weehawken with Mr Pappas. My sincere thoughts and prayers to the Pappas family and may he rest in peace.

  6. Bill will be sincerely missed by many. We will always remember his smile, which brought so much joy to all those of us who had the pleasure of working with him.
To Bill, we say Cruise on!

  7. God Bless Bill's family including his Filco associates during this difficult time..May Bill rest in Peace..!Sincerest Regards,Bob Terry

  8. So sorry to hear of the loss of our neighbor and friend. I worked over 10 years with Mr. Pappas at Resources Life Insurance Company. Mr. Pappas gave me my first start in business. Since I still live in Leonia if Mrs. Pappas needs anything please call 201-947-8693. Will try to make the service but not sure due to my demanding job of being a PM Operations Manager at Fed Ex. Wayne and Jenine Norris

  9. John, family and the Filco family. I am so sorry to here of Bills passing. Bill was truly one of a kind and one the nicest brokers in NY, his agency has proven that as well. Again so sorry to hear and may Bill rest in peace and may his good will continue to carry on with his Agency.
