Alfredo Aquiles Toledo

Alfredo Aquiles Toledo born February 28th, 1946 in Loja, Ecuador to his parents Maunel Francisco Toledo and Luz Coty Toledo. He was the youngest of 5; Manuel Toledo Jr, Sonia Betty Morillo, Teresa Sanchez and Marco Gonzalo Toledo . Dad made his journey as a young toddler to Guayaquil, Ecuador. Here is where he grew up and enjoyed his young years as a student and followed into the Ecuadorian Military. At a very young age, he began his singing career as a Ballad Singer. He was very passionate about music and performing in front of many. He had the opportunity to tour South America with a group of singers called Clan Del 4 and even came to the States to perform his hit, "Dile A Nancy". He made an appearance at the Manhattan Center which is called The Hammerstein Ballroom in Manhattan. He had the privilege to experience NYC in the 60s and had the opportunity to attend Wood Stock.

He met the love of his life Vilma Nancy Munoz in 1973 and they have been inseparable ever since. In June of 1975 they welcomed their first born Peggy Toledo. Four years later in 1979 the Toledo family would welcome their second born, Scott Toledo. In 1983 Alfredo accepted a job with the Fort Board of Education as a Custodial worker. He made the decision to move his family to Fort Lee and there he spent 30+ years of his life as a committed member of the community who dedicated 28 years to working for the BOE. This was a life changing experience for our Dad. He is a peoples person. He loved his job and the people around him. He was known as Big Al at FLHS. Dad retired from his job in 2011. It is very amazing to hear now, what footprints he left to many former students.

2000 Marlene Santos entered our lives and Alfredo gained another daughter. 2004 Jason Goldstein entered our lives and Dad gained another son. We have so many memories to reflect on and so blessed to have lived life to the fullest with Dad.

Out of all the roles Dad had, being a Grandfather was his most cherished role. He dedicated himself in body and soul to his grandkids. Alfredo was unable to go a couple of days without spending quality time with his grandkids and in the same way his grandkids couldn't go a couple of days without seeing him. He will forever be in our minds and our hearts. The void he has left us with can never be filled.
