Alice Philomey

Philomey, Alice, (nee: McLoughlin), age 100, of Edgewater formerly of Haverstraw, NY, passed on Thursday October 3, 2019. Born in Glangavelin, County Cavan, Ireland and immigrated to the United States approximately 1940, while still able to travel the Atlantic. She came with her mom and siblings to set up a new life in Brooklyn. She met the love of her life in the Catskills in the 1950's, and married Robert. They settled in Haverstraw and raised their son Peter. Alice was a Clerk for the Rockland School Systems and a devoted Rosarian. In her later years she moved to Edgewater with Robert and enjoyed the amenities of Waterford Towers. The family will receive their friends on Sunday 3:00 – 5:00 PM and Sunday 7:00 – 9:00 PM at the Frank A. Patti and Kenneth Mikatarian Funeral Home 327 Main Street "opposite the Fort Lee Library". All are asked to assemble for the celebration of her funeral mass in St. Peter's R.C Church (Haverstraw, NY) at 11:15 AM internment to follow at St. Peter's Cemetery.
