Corrado, Anna, nee: Mercora, age 90, of West Chester, Pennsylvania, formerly of
Edgewater, New Jersey passed peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Friday
March 29, 2024. Born on August 1, 1933 in the Bronx, New York she was the loving
daughter to the late Christy and Natalie (nee: Majonica) Mercora. Devoted sister to the
late Vincenza Stabile and her husband Ronald. Anna was the Beloved wife to the late
Nicholas Corrado. Loving mother to Marie Lopez and her husband Oscar and Natalie
Heaps and her husband Enos. Cherished grandmother to Gregory and his wife
Amanda, Brenna and her husband Todd, Crystal and her husband Michael, Enos and
his wife Lauren, Ezria and her husband Andrew, Allegra and her husband Frank, David
and his wife Natalia, predeceased by the late Christine. Proud Great Grandmother to
Chayce, Cade, Dominic, Landen, Rosa, Mabel, Flora, Jude, Jonas, Simone, Elle and
Francisco. Anna leaves behind many Nieces and Nephews who she loved dearly.
During Anna’s life she had a variety of jobs. In her early years she worked as a
seamstress. She moved on to using her talent and passion for cooking catering and
managing small kitchen/cafeteria operations. She went on to work for Lipton for 15
years working in the Packaging and Consumer Testing Dept. After retirement she took
one of her favorite jobs as preschool aide at Ivy League School. She ended her
working career as cook for her Pastor/Friend at Holy Rosary Church.
Anna had the ability to make everyone feel loved and cared for. Her warmth, smile and
welcoming spirit brought sunshine to so many lives. Her love for her family, Italian
traditions, and exceptional cooking talent brought people together sitting around a table
filled with delicious food, laughing, and talking for hours. She had the ability to turn
small visits with family and friends into a party. Her summer backyard parties were the
best. Anna welcomed everyone into her home and made friends with everyone she
met.
Anna can be remembered for her love and service to people. Through her almost 40
years of volunteer work at Holy Rosary Church and the Edgewater community she
touched many people’s lives. She went on to do the same in Pennsylvania where she
volunteered at Brandywine Hospital and was part of the Women’s Project Group at
Exton Community Baptist Church where she made many beautiful friendships. Even in
her later years of health struggles, Anna managed to be a light in the lives of friends
she made at her dialysis center.
The family will receive their friends on Wednesday, April 3 from 4-8 PM at the Frank A.
Patti and Kenneth Mikatarian Funeral Home 327 Main Street “opposite the Fort Lee
Library”. The funeral will leave Thursday, April 4 at 10:30 AM for the celebration of
