Tarabocchia, Antonio,age 85, of Barnegat, formerly of Rutherford, passed peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday March 2, 2022. Born in Susak, Croatia he immigrated to the United States in 1961. He was a Longshoreman for Local #1 of Newark, for 42 years before retiring in 2002. A man full of life and talents, his garden was the envy of many, he was well traveled with many family cruises. His favorite part of the day was grilling and enjoying a glass of wine. He could fix or build anything, and shared his talents with his entire family. He was known to frequent Atlantic City and to be the life of every wedding singing in harmony with his wife.

Beloved husband of 63 years to Maria (nee: Picinic). Devoted father of Angie Varina and her husband Dave, Stella Mirkovich and her husband John, Antonio "Tony" Tarabocchia, Jr. and his wife Lisa, and Dina Mattessich and her husband Dino. Cherished Nono of Randy and his wife Kristen, Kristel, Tyler, Jonathan and his wife Jessica, Nicole, Antonio III, Austin, Julia, Olivia, Mike and his wife Missy, Greg and his wife Kara, and Jessica. Adored great grandfather of Mila, Ivan, Rylan, Sayler, Capri, and Jett. Dear brother of Nikolina Kolanovic and late siblings, Antonia Pesa, Domenica and Giovanni Tarabocchia.

The family will receive their friends on Monday 4-8 pm at the Frank A. Patti and Kenneth Mikatarian Funeral Home 327 Main Street "opposite the Fort Lee Library". The funeral will leave Tuesday at 10:30 AM for the celebration of his funeral mass in Madonna R.C. Church On The Hill at 11:00 AM.
