Betty Ann Baldessari Sokol

Betty Ann Sokol, nee Baldessari, age 94, a resident of Leonia for 6 decades, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 16, 2023. Born in San Diego, California she was raised in National City. She earned her master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology from the University of Southern California and was a member of Gamma Phi Beta. She began her career teaching in California and taught on a U.S. Army Base in Germany after World War II. Before retiring Betty was a Speech Language Pathologist for the South Bergen Jointure Commission. Upon retirement, Betty traveled extensively throughout the world to many common and exotic places. Betty was a long-time parishioner of St. John’s RC Church and active in “Sculpture For Leonia”.

Beloved wife of the late John Sokol. Devoted mother of Stephen Sokol and the late Thomas Sokol. Dear sister of the late John Baldessari. Adored aunt of Annamarie Baldessari and Antonio Baldessari.

The family will receive their friends on Monday 3:00 – 7:00 PM at the Frank A. Patti and Kenneth Mikatarian Funeral Home 327 Main Street “opposite the Fort Lee Library”. The funeral will leave Tuesday at 10:00 am for the celebration of her funeral mass in St. John R. C. Church at 10:30 AM.
