DeMercurio, Catherine, nee: Careri, age 97, of Fort Lee, on Wednesday September 12, 2018. Born in Reggio Calabria, Italy she was a clerk for ShopRite of Fort Lee. She was one of the founding members of both the Main Street Senior Club and the 475 Main Street Senior Building where she was a former President. Proud member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Fort Lee VFW and a parishioner of Madonna R.C. Church. Beloved wife of the late Saverio DeMercurio. Devoted mother of Maria Harding, Rose Martinez, Patricia Bartone and Nancy Mackie. Cherished grandmother of Jimmy, Bobby, Maria “Sissy”, Tammy, Joseph, Leslie, Stacy, Cindy, Keri and the late Andrea. Adored great grandmother of 19 and 4 great-great grandchildren. Dear sister of Marie Medaglia-Sanborn, Joseph, Sal and the Late Patsy Careri. The family will receive their friends on Sunday 3:00 -7:00 PM at the Frank A. Patti and Kenneth Mikatarian Funeral Home 327 Main Street “opposite the Fort Lee Library”.
