David M Adams

David M. Adams, age 77, of Fort Lee, New Jersey, passed from this life on the 10th of March 2024. Born on the 2nd of October 1947, in Buffalo, New York, he was a man esteemed for his altruistic nature and the compassionate support he extended to those around him.

In his professional life, David was committed to his role as a Recreation Therapist, working with adult residential patients at a public institution in New York State, aiding those with intellectual and emotional challenges. His dedication to service extended beyond his occupation, as he once led the Gay Fathers Forum at NY’s Gay and Lesbian Center, guiding fathers through their personal journeys of acceptance and growth.

David’s love for music was evident through his contributions as an assistant choir director at his local church and his involvement in community theater productions, where his baritone voice was cherished by many.

But, above all, David’s greatest pride was in his family. He was a devoted father to Jennifer, Michael, and Kenneth, and a caring stepfather to Andrew, Jennifer, and Michael. His 11 grandchildren will share the joy of having known him. His enduring partnership and love with his husband, Robert Schwartz, spanned over 37 years, during which they built a legacy of love and joy.

His absence will be profoundly felt by his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to experience his warmth and generosity. David’s spirit will live on through the cherished memories held by those he touched.
