Cooney, Edna Elizabeth (neé Wayman) of North Bergen on February 15, 2015. Born in Hebburn, England on May 19, 1923, she served in the British Army in WW II and emigrated to the U.S. after the War. She was an executive assistant to Jerry B. Klein, a noted bankruptcy accountant in New York, for almost 50 years, continuing to work into her late eighties. The widow of Joseph Cooney and sister of the late Martha Ward, she is survived by her brother Bernard Wayman and sister Patience McDermott, her nieces and nephews Patrick and Jan Cooney, Nicholas Gordon and Ellen Wayman-Gordon, James and Laurie Lyons, William Wayman, Bernard and Jacqueline Owston, and Keith and May Owston, 11 great nieces and nephews, and four great-great nieces and nephews. The family will receive their friends on Thursday, February 19 from 3-5pm and 7-9pm at the Frank A. Patti and Kenneth Mikatarian Funeral Home, 327 Main Street "opposite the Fort Lee Library". The funeral will leave Friday, February 20, at 10:30 AM for the celebration of her funeral mass in the Historic Madonna R.C Church, 2070 Hoefley's Lane, Fort Lee at 11:00 AM.
