DONATICH Ernest, aged 87, born in Istria, Italy, died peacefully at the Hackensack University Medical Center on Saturday, July 30, 2016. He served as Executive Chef at Joe’s Pier 52 in Manhattan. His passions included cooking, entertaining, dancing, travel and storytelling. He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Mary (nee Bucich), daughter Anita Frankovic and her husband, Mario and grandchildren, Christina and Joseph as well as a son, John E, his wife Betsy Lerner and granddaughter, Raffaella. Brother Matteo and wife Rose and their family and by many nieces and nephews here in the US and in Croatia. He was a former President of St George Benevolent Society. The Family will receive their Friends on Tuesday 4-8 PM at the Frank A. Patti and Kenneth Mikatarian Funeral Home, 327 Main Street “opposite the Fort Lee Library.” The funeral will leave Wednesday at 10:30 AM for the celebration of his funeral mass in Madonna R.C.
