Florence M. Marchi

Florence Marchi, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and community leader, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2024.

Born and raised in Greenwich Village, New York City, Florence pursued her passion for helping others by attending St. Vincent’s School of Nursing. After graduating, she worked as a nurse at St. Vincent’s Hospital, dedicating herself to the care of others. In June 1958, she married the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Marchi. Together they shared more than 66 wonderful years of marriage.

The couple began their life together in Brooklyn before settling in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey. While raising their family, Florence became deeply involved in her children’s education and community activities. She served on the Board of Education and actively participated in the Parent-Teacher Associations of their schools, leaving a lasting impact on those around her.

Later in life, Florence combined her love of travel with her professional ambitions as President of V.I.P. International Travel. She found great joy in helping others explore the world and experience new cultures. Her dedication to service extended beyond her career; she was an active member of her local Rotary Club and proudly served as its President as well as Assistant District Governor, exemplifying her commitment to making a difference in her community.

Florence is survived by her beloved husband Bob; her children Robert (and Colleen), Kathy (and Chris), Nina, and Dean (and Maya); and her grandchildren Raphaela, Robbie, Katja (and Parker), Francesca, Dylan, Mateo, Tatiana, Chiara, Liam, Cooper, and Masimo.

Florence will be laid to rest on the morning of Thursday, December 19th, surrounded by her family. Her legacy of compassion and service will continue to inspire all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to those who mourn her passing.
