Helga Collins

Helga Bonkowski Collins, age 83, peacefully went home to be with her Lord on Sept. 17, 2019. She lived most of her life in New Jersey, where she raised two daughters on her own. She also worked at the American Bible Society in New York City for twenty-one years. She spent her last six years living in California. She loved her family, nature, cowboy music, wrote poetry, was a prayer warrior and told everyone about her Lord & Savior Jesus Christ.

Helga is survived by her daughter Heidi & husband, Dr. Joseph Corso; daughter Linda & husband, William Lehman; grandchildren David & Eric Corso, Isabel & Gabrielle Lehman; brothers Helmut and Edwin Bonkowski. She is predeceased by her parents, Arthur & Emma Bonkowski; brother Meinhold Bonkowski and sister Gerda Mathis.

Celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at the First Reformed Church of the Palisades, 2420 Lemoine Ave, Fort Lee, NJ. The family will receive visitors beginning at 10:00 am, with a memorial service at 11:00 am. Private burial to follow.
