Hugh J. Gallagher

Gallagher, Hugh J., "Hughie" age 85, of McAffe, NJ and formerly of Leonia, on November 6, 2017. He was born in Queens, NY and served his country proudly in the Marine Corp during the Korean War. He was a Police Sergeant for the Leonia Police Department and was active with the PBA after his retirement. Hugh loved to play Golf and was an Adamant Yankee and Notre Dame Fan. Beloved husband of the late Patricia nee; Holtz. Devoted father of George Gallagher and his wife Linda, Kevin Gallagher and his wife Heidi, and the late Joseph Gallagher. Cherished grandfather of Ashley, Lindsey, Patrick and Ryan. Adored great grandfather of Brandon, Peter and Arianna. Loved by many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents Joseph and Agnes (O'Toole) Gallagher and by his siblings Madelyn Hemming and William Gallagher. Hugh was also a family man that made sure his family including his fur animal grandchildren always came first. The family will receive their friends on Friday 4:00 -8:00 PM at the Frank A. Patti and Kenneth Mikatarian Funeral Home 327 Main Street "opposite the Fort Lee Library". All are asked to Assemble Saturday for the celebration of his funeral mass in the Historic Madonna R. C.
