Irma Nieves

Mrs. Irma Antonia Nieves of Leonia, NJ passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 16, 2023. She was 97 years old. She was born in Naranjito, Puerto Rico on April 10, 1926. She had been married to Ignacio Nieves, Sr. for 39 years.

She raised 7 children in Brooklyn, NY with her loving husband, Ignacio "Nacho". She loved being surrounded by her family. Everyone she met loved and respected her. She enjoyed being head chef in her kitchen and it was reflected in the meals she made. She was a die-hard Mets fan.

She is survived by 5 children and their spouses, 14 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 1 sister.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 21, 2023, from 4pm to 8 pm at the Frank Patti Funeral Home, 327 Main Street, Fort Lee, NJ 07024. A mass will be held at 10:00 am on Friday September 22, 2023, at St. John the Evangelist RC Church, 470 Broad Ave, Leonia, NJ 07605 followed by burial services at Ocean View Cemetery, 3315 Amboy Road, Staten Island, NY 10306.
