Janice A. Hernandez

d. April 4, 2025

Wanaque formerly of North Bergen

Janice A. Hernandez, age 71, passed away peacefully on April 4, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. A devoted wife, mother, Nanny, sister, and friend. She was the heart and soul of her family—an angel on earth who gave everything for those she loved. Born in Hackensack, New Jersey, and raised in North Bergen, Janice met the love of her life, Jose Hernandez, 53 years ago while working at Diana Stores. They shared a remarkable 50-year marriage filled with love, memories, and unwavering support for one another. Their bond was the foundation of a beautiful life built on faith, family, and devotion.

A proud and nurturing stay-at-home mom, Janice also worked alongside her husband at their advertising agency and later pursued a career as a realtor. She gave her all in every role she took on—with grace, strength, and boundless compassion. She spent the past 50 years in Washington Township, where she created a warm and welcoming home filled with love and unforgettable memories. Janice loved to host family gatherings, bringing everyone together with her incredible cooking, vibrant energy, and generous spirit. She was the life of the party, always ready to dance with joy in her heart and a sparkle in her eye.

A true lover of beauty and style, Janice was always dressed to the nines—glamorous, graceful, and confident. She had a sharp mind and a deep love for reading, which she carried throughout her life. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her grandchildren, who adored their Nanny deeply.

She also had a deep love for her dogs, Milo and Rico, who brought her endless joy and companionship throughout the years.

Janice is survived by her beloved husband of 50 years, Jose Hernandez, and her three daughters: Danielle Hernandez, Diana Casianos (James Casianos), and Doreen Greco (Joe Greco). Her legacy lives on through her cherished grandchildren: Jake, Sebastian, and Bella. She is also survived by her loving sisters Marianne Martello, Patricia Alvarez, and Barbara Wramage, along with countless friends and extended family members—many of whom considered her a second mom.

To know Janice was to feel deeply cared for. Her kindness, selflessness, and love will be carried in our hearts forever. She was truly a blessing, a light in all of our lives, and her spirit will continue to live within us always.
