Jean O Thomson

Jean O. Thomson, Age 82, formerly of Edgewater, NJ. Born in Englewood, NJ to Martin J. and Bertha (Holl) O’ Brien. She graduated from Dwight Morrow High School in Englewood, NJ and Claremont Secretarial School.  She was the parish secretary and religious education secretary at St. John the Evangelist in Bergenfield, NJ.  Jean then proceeded to work as parish secretary at The Church of the Holy Rosary in Edgewater, NJ, from where she retired.  Beloved wife of Deacon Robert Thomson married 61 years. Loving mother to Robert Thomson and Laurie Mallon, Jennifer and Terence McGean, and William Thomson. Caring Nana to Joseph, Erin, and Morgan. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She served on the Edgewater Library Board for 15 years, where she was a mentor for school-aged children and ESL adults. Jean was also a very proud Mother. She also volunteered in many other capacities at The Church of the Holy Rosary.

All are asked to assemble for a Mass of Christian Burial that will be held on Thursday March 6^th at 10:30am at The Church of the Holy Rosary located at 365 Undercliff Avenue, Edgewater NJ. The burial will follow the mass and will take place at Madonna Cemetery located in Fort Lee , NJ. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Jean’s memory to The Interreligious Fellowship for the Homeless located at One Church Street Teaneck, NJ 07666.
