Jeannette Salvemini

Jeannette Salvemini, age 93, of Leonia, passed peacefully on Tuesday January 14, 2025.  Born Jeannette Falco or Jenny as she was known, to Joseph and Josephine Falco, grew up in a lively household full of siblings and cousins in Jersey City.  Jeanette learned to sew at a young age and obtained a factory job as a teenager where she met her future husband, Louis Salvemini.  Her talents for sewing extended into many facets of her life – as she made couture garments for friends and family as well as expertly crafted home accessories.  Her own homemaking was truly an art as she created a lovely and welcoming space for everyone who joined the dinner table.  Her generosity, good humor and famous meatballs will be dearly missed.

Jenny Salvemini was the devoted mother of Steven and his wife Leslie and Louis and his fiance Kathy. Cherished grandmother of Jennifer, Steven, Holly and the Late Louis, great grandmother to Michael, Joseph-John, Louie and Gabriella.

The family will receive their friends and family on Monday from 3-7 pm at the Frank Patti and Kenneth Mikatarian Funeral Home 327 Main Street Fort Lee, NJ.   The funeral will leave Tuesday at 10:30 am for the celebration of her funeral mass in St. John’s R.C Church (Leonia) at 11:00 am.  Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.  For further information call (201) 944-0100.
