It is with great sadness and heavy hearts to announce the passing of John Paul Siry, aged 82, of Wake Forest, North Carolina on April 22, 2024. John passed away after a prolonged illness in recent years. John was born on April 1, 1942, to the late John and Lodja (Pryszmont) Siry in New York City. After graduating from William Taft high school in the Bronx in 1961, John was married and settled in Englewood, New Jersey while working at the Ford Motor Company in Mahwah for 12 years.
He then went on to provide hospitality services at the Cupola Nursing home in Paramus and then as a doorman at the Regency Luxury Apartments in Fort Lee. He was a friend to everyone he met and a source of entertainment and laughter to all that were fortunate enough to get to spend any significant time with him. Whether it was his plentiful, impromptu singing, the yarns he would spin about his past experiences, or his love of trains, guns, trucks, and Harley Davidson motorcycles. Amongst activities he spoke most fondly of, were visiting and riding the open road with his friend Russ in New Mexico.
After retiring in 2015, John moved to Wake Forest, North Carolina. He had 9 wonderful years living near his daughter. He enjoyed going on road trips spending time with his neighbors and was famous for sitting at the edge of his driveway, waving hello to passersby. He loved talking with people, was kind and had such a positive outlook on life.
John was predeceased in death by his father John, his mother, Lottie, and his son, Michael Vincent. He is survived by his daughter, Patricia Anderson and her husband, Scott.
