Alefanti, Joseph, F., age 87, of Fort Lee, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday, November 22, 2024. Born in Manhattan on December 26, 1936, to the Late Frank and Aliada (nee: Cresenza) Alefanti. He worked in the meat industry as a butcher.
While serving in the National Guard, Joe became a cook. After his honorable discharge, Joe remained in the meat industry most of his adult life serving as a Butcher, initially at Cafasso’s Fairway in Fort Lee, and later commuting to Leonard’s Sea Food and Prime Meats on the Upper East Side in NYC. His knowledge and love of quality food and drink landed Joe his nickname: “The Butcher” by all who knew him well.
Joe was a charismatic socialite. His funny one liners will be remembered by all. He is survived by many friends whom Joe lovingly came to consider his family. He is also survived by two nephews Frank and Anthony Alefanti.
A celebration of Joseph’s life will be held on Saturday, December 7, at 1:00 PM. Please contact the funeral home for further details on the location.
