Mary Elizabeth Burke, (nee Keenan) 91, of St. James, North Carolina, passed away on January 15 in Ridgefield, NJ surrounded by her family.
Most recently Mary lived in Toms River, NJ. Mary was born in Brooklyn, NY in 1933. Mary worked as a social worker for the Englewood Housing Authority before retiring.
Mary enjoyed her life and retirement, spending time with her family and friends in New Jersey, St. James, NC and East Branch, NY.
Mary is predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Patrick “Paddy” Burke in 2021 and her brother Ronald Keenan in 2011. Mary is survived by her children Kathleen, Ellen and Bill, Mary and Joe, Anne, Patrick, John and Karen. Her grandchildren whom she loved and was proud of Colin, Elizabeth, Michael, Patrick, Holly and Frank, Christina, Morgan, Clare and Mantas, Kerry and Kevin. Four great grand-children who called her GG, Tyler, Brayden, Cooper and Kayla. Mary is survived by her sister in law Sheila Keenan. She is also survived by nephews and nieces including: Doreen and Mike, Jeannie and Bill, John and Mary, Nuala and Richard, Jimmy and Paula, Mary and Kevin, Eileen, Mary Theresa, Patricia, Kevin and Kathy, Michael, Christine and Matt, Doreen and Vinny, John and Danny. She was always asking about her numerous cousins, great nieces and nephews, too many here to list.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association or to American Cancer Association.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 – 5:00 PM at the Frank A. Patti & Kenneth Mikatarian Funeral Home on Sunday January 26th,
All are asked to Assemble Monday January 27th for the funeral mass in Saint Matthew’s R.C Church, 555 Prospect Avenue, Ridgefield, NJ., at 10:30 AM. The burial will be at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veteran’s Cemetery to follow.
