Norma Brown

Norma Brown, born on February 1, 1919, passed away peacefully at the age of 105. Norma was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her.

Norma is survived by her daughter, Marilyn Brown; her daughter-in-law, Jane Lynch Brown; her grandchildren, Michael Brown, Nicole Brown Dolan and her husband Steve Dolan; and her great-grandchildren, Tim and Sean Dolan. Her son, Alex “Sandy” Brown, predeceased her, but his memory lives on in our hearts.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, Norma was the daughter of Mary and Frank Giordano and grew up in a loving family with eight siblings. Norma worked as a hostess in New York City, where she met and married the love of her life, Angus “Papa Gus” Brown, in 1936. Together, they moved to Cliffside Park, NJ, where they set down roots and raised their two children. Norma and Gus were the epitome of warm hospitality, always opening their home to family and friends. Their home was filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Norma’s legacy of kindness, strength, and joy will continue to inspire and live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.

A celebration of Norma’s life will be held on June 1st, 2024, at 9:45 a.m. at Epiphany Church in honor of her remarkable 105 years. May she rest in peace and be reunited with her great love, Papa Gus, her siblings, and her many friends.
