Philip J. Berg

Berg, Philip J., 91, of The Moorings, Vero Beach, Florida, died peacefully June 17, 2015, in Edgewater, New Jersey. He was born in Sewickley, Pennsylvania and moved to Vero Beach in 1995 from Sewickley. Mr. Berg was a graduate of Lehigh University, class of 1944. He was a lieutenant in the U. S. Navy during World War II and made three war patrols on the submarine U.S.S. Kingfish. He was employed by Dravo Corporation, Pittsburgh, PA for 39 years and retired as Executive Vice President and member of the Board of Directors in 1985. He was a Trustee of Lehigh University for twelve years and a member of the Sewickley Heights Borough Council. He is predeceased by his wife of 52 years, Elizabeth, March 23, 1997 and his second wife of 13 years, Margaret, August 12, 2012. Surviving are his three daughters, Susan B. Gross, Margaret B. Anderson, and Elizabeth B. Berg, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. A private service for the family will be held at a later date.
