Ramon A. Madera

Ramon Antonio Madera was born in Valverde Mao, Dominican Republic on October 11th, 1936 to Jose Arcadio Madera and Francisca Antonia Madera Fermin. He was the oldest of 7 children. His sisters Yolanda, Daisy, Rosanidia, and Milagros Fermin, and Zunilda, Carmen Dolores Madera. As a young adult, he majored in Civil Engineering and Architecture at the University Autonoma of Santo Domingo, where he also played baseball. He immigrated to the United States in 1968 where he pursued the American dream and became a successful entrepreneur. He married his first wife Ana Matilde Roman and had his first three daughters with her: Belinda, Patricia, and Priscilla. Ramon and Matilde’s marriage may have ended, but his love for their daughters never would.

In the coming years, he found love again and married Lourdes Magalys Medina, and they had two daughters together: Alexandra and Lourdes. He was passionate about the arts, especially music; fine dining, and travel. He was a devout Catholic and beloved father who worked tirelessly to provide for his family. He taught his daughters to be strong, hard-working and independent, and to always pursue their goals and dreams.

He is survived by his wife Lourdes Magalys, his five daughters: Belinda, Patricia, Priscilla, Alexandra, and Lourdes Madera; his grandchildren: Christopher and Mathew Polanco, Rachel and Brian Palumbo, Ethan and Mia Kubus, and Dersim Zan.
