Robert "Bob" E. Toro, Jr.

Robert E. “Bob” Toro Jr., 92, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2025, in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

Born on July 24, 1932, in Bronx, NY, he was the son of Mercedes Ortiz and Roberto Seda Toro.

Bob lived a full and dedicated life. He honorably served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, demonstrating his commitment to his country. Following his military service, he built a successful career as an operations manager at D’Agostino and General Trading. He later worked in security for Mt Airy Casino.

Additionally, he took pride in owning and operating his own Sports Memorabilia business.

Bob was a devoted family man who cherished time spent with his loved ones. He is survived by his sisters Josephine Robledo, Aileen Ciance and husband Vincent, sister in law Carol Toro, his brother Arnold “Sonny “Toro and his wife Joanie. His children: Robert R. Toro and his wife Tina Hicks; Richard R. Toro and his wife Lauren Toro; Donnamarie McHugh; and Denise Latham and her husband Patrick Latham. He was a proud grandfather to nine grandchildren—TJ, Brad, Kristen, Robbie, Dana, Nicole, Brooke, Jared, and Jessie—and a great-grandfather to twelve great-grandchildren—Natalie, Emma, Hazel, Brody Viviana, Bailey, Scarlet, Averly, Hunter, Kaia, Matteo and Alessi.

Bob was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jessie Toro, his twin brother Edgar Toro, sisters Mary DuBose and Norma Thompson, son-in-law Thomas McHugh.

In addition, he is survived by Karen Celentano Toro and son Nicholas Toro.

Beyond his professional accomplishments and military service, Bob was of catholic faith and a lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus.  He found joy in golfing, bowling and collecting sports memorabilia. He was a die-hard NY Giants and Yankees fan. Bob enjoyed hosting barbecues and bocce tournaments with family and friends.  He was an avid history reader and had a love for all animals, especially dogs.  However, nothing brought him greater happiness than being surrounded by his family. His legacy of love and dedication will live on through those who knew him.

May his memory bring comfort to all who were fortunate enough to have known him.
