Robert John Wilkens

Robert John Wilkens, 73, of Bergen County, NJ, passed away on January 23rd, shortly after being diagnosed with cancer.

Robert was born on February 11th, 1951, to Betty and John Wilkens in Jersey City, NJ. After graduating from Bergenfield High School, he earned his BA at William Patterson University. He began a lifelong career in insurance and eventually launched the Robert Wilkens Insurance Agency. He is remembered well for his open, generous heart, loving spirit, and playful humor. Robert is revered and missed by his wife, Helen Wilkens, children John and Kristen Wilkens, daughter-in-law Lauren Wilkens, and grandchildren, Gracen, Joseph, and Luke Wilkens. He is also survived by his sisters Susan Wilkens and Barbara Drake and companion, Fran Parise. Robert was predeceased by his parents, Bette and John Wilkens, and beloved nephew, Darren Drake.

Visitation will be Tuesday, January 28th, 2025, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Frank A. Patti Funeral Home, 327 Main Street, Fort Lee, NJ 07024. A mass to celebrate his faith and commemorate his life will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, January 29th, at Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, 2367 Lemoine Ave, Fort Lee, NJ 07024.
