Shang Kao

Kao, Shang, age 94, of Fort Lee, formerly of Newburgh, NY and Poughkeepsie, NY passed away peacefully on Tuesday October 31, 2023. Born in Beijing, China he immigrated to the United States in 1956. He was a professor of Chinese Language at Yale University and then became a Computer Programmer for IBM before retiring in 1991. He was a founder of Yeh Yu Chinese Opera Club and a member for over 40 years.

Beloved husband of Angela (nee: Chen). Devoted father of Grace Kao-Patt and her husband Christopher and James Kao. Adored grandfather of Violet.
